Sameen Jalal is a seasoned technology leader, engineer, and angel investor with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges. As Chief Technology Officer at Happening, part of Superbet Group, Sameen oversees a rapidly growing, globally distributed technology organization of over 650 professionals.

Under his leadership, the team supports a diverse product portfolio driving over €1.4 billion in annual revenue across multiple international markets. His responsibilities span international expansion, product-led growth, platform integrations, data analytics, machine learning, Enterprise IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and many other organic growth initiatives.

Previously, as Director of Applied Machine Learning at Wayve AI, Sameen pioneered critical advances in autonomous vehicle technology—from cutting-edge algorithm development to successful on-road deployments. He led multidisciplinary teams across robotics, machine learning platforms, MLOps, simulation, data platforms, analytics, and user experience, playing an instrumental role in securing funding and scaling Wayve into a unicorn.
Earlier in his career, Sameen served as Engineering Lead at Facebook, in London, where he established and scaled core engineering teams responsible for security, integrity, and privacy across Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Oculus. As a Production Engineer at Facebook, in California, he optimized distributed caching systems and databases, enhancing reliability and performance to support over three billion users worldwide.

Sameen is recognized for his strategic vision, technical expertise, and commitment to cultivating high-performing teams that drive significant business impact. He is currently leading an AI strategy at Superbet poised to shake up the industry.
