Andrei is a seasoned research policy and funding professional with over 13 years of experience within EU institutions and six years of prior experience as a researcher. He currently serves as the Deputy Head of Unit for the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, a flagship funding programme under Horizon Europe that supports start-ups and SMEs with game-changing innovations poised to create new markets or disrupt existing ones across Europe and beyond.

Andrei holds a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and is a co-holder of a German patent in augmented reality. His expertise spans a diverse range of fields, including European research policy, security, remote sensing, human-computer interaction, augmented reality, virtual reality, and image processing.
